| We believe that there is a one true God and creator of all
things, who exists eternally as three persons - Father, Son
and Holy Spirit. All of whom, whilst being united indivisibly
in love and sharing the same nature, are personally distinct
from each other.
We believe that God has revealed Himself to mankind in the
66 Books of the Bible - all of which were verbally inspired
by the Holy Spirit and are therefore infallible and inerrant
in the form in which they were originally given. As a result,
the Bible is the sole authority in all matters that pertain
to Christian faith and practice.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten
son of God and Lord of all Creation (the Word made flesh)
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,
lived a sinless life and died on the cross for the sins of
the whole world. We also believe that Jesus rose from the
dead and ascended to heaven in His glorified body where He
now sits at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that Jesus Christ was both the Son of God and
the Son of Man (true man) and moreover the only acceptable
mediator between God and man. As a direct result of His death
on the cross, Jesus is the only means we have of salvation
from both the penalty and consequences of our sin.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will, at the time appointed
by the Father, visibly and personally return to the earth
to establish His Kingdom and that when that happens, the whole
earth will acknowledge Him as their Lord and King.
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts men and women of
their sin, but leads them to repentance and regenerates them
through their faith in Jesus Christ. Those who are thus ‘born
again’ are indwelt by God, sanctified by His presence
and enabled to manifest God’s own life through the gifts
He will bestow upon them.
We believe that mankind was originally created by God in
His own image to manifest His glory and to rule the earth.
That purpose was disrupted when Adam and Eve disobeyed God
and, as a result of that disobedience, suffered both spiritual
and physical death. This ‘original’ sin then devolved
to the whole human race - resulting in death and eternal punishment
for all. Salvation from this state is obtained purely by the
grace of God and is only received through genuine repentance
towards Him and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. This experience
is known as Regeneration or the New Birth and is a complete
and instantaneous operation of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Kingdom of God is comprised of all those
who have been born again and have made Jesus Christ the Lord
of their lives and that the Church is the local and visible
expression of that Kingdom. In this context, believers are
expected to engage in worship and prayer, study the Scriptures,
serve their fellow believers, reach out to the unsaved in
their local community and share in the ‘Lord's Supper’
regularly to commemorate His death until He comes.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ encourages those who
profess His Name to be baptized in water by emersion in the
name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In so doing, the
believer symbolically identifies him or herself with the death
of the Lord Jesus Christ (to sin) as well as His resurrection
(to new life).
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the redemptive
right of believers to be made whole in every facet of their
lives. We also believe in the exercising of the gifts of the
Holy Spirit under the covering of the five-fold ascension
ministry gifts, the priesthood of all believers and the primacy
of the Scriptures in building faith and providing direction
for the lives of God's people.
